Rest Day in Groningen, September 11, 2015

Today we are having a leisurely day in the city. It is market day so we look at all the tasty goods. Then a cappuccino and some people watching. Lots of bikers whizzing by. Off to find a drugstore for some blister products. That does not take long to be needed. Only hotspots right now. Yesterday I walked 30,104 steps which is about 21 km.
We have a cute room with a small garden attached to it. No steep stairs this time. We do have a bathroom with a light that suddenly goes off. So if you linger in there you have to wave your arms around to get the light on again. Interesting!
We ate lunch in a cozy place with thick carpets on the tables. We had tomato soup plus bitter ballen. Would have had apple tart but could eat no more.

  1. Love the pics of the market! Too bad there is no way to also capture all the different odours that hang in the air there!

  3. I laughed aloud when I read about the bathroom light. Also, those toilets seem to have mysterious flushing mechanism. Your blog is great and i will follow your adventure.

  4. A good Saturday morning to you and Jeff, Chris! Haven't seen a post for today yet, even tho it's early evening for you guys :). Hoping your walking went well today, and I enjoy the thought of you as boy scout, finding your way "by the book". Trusting you are not walking in circles, though!! Loving the pictures, the joy of your adventure and your very positive attitude over the unconventional bed/bathroom encounters along the way so far......love to you both, Janette and Joe
